Marie is in pursuit of a killer. Having arrived at her friend Alex's family home, she has been witness to a horrific home invasion. Alex's entire family have been executed by the most brutal means possible, whilst Alex has been kidnapped. Marie manages to sneak into the killer's torture chamber of a van, but Alex is tied up and gagged, unable to communicate, or exit the van. Marie attempts to rescue her friend, but it will take eliminating this killer. In trying to do so, she becomes separated from the pair in the van and ends up tailing after him and his hostage. When Marie is confronted with the killer, it is a battle of strength and will of the mind, but Marie will eventually triumph. However, when she goes to rescue and comfort her friend, Alex is resistant. Marie cannot understand why having done everything she can to protect and keep Alex, she is met with hostility and accusations that Marie has been responsible for the massacre that occurred throughout the night. All soon becomes clear: Marie has a split personality and what appeared to be an innocent close friendship with Alex, was in fact infatuation. She wanted Alex all to herself and it brought out the worst in her.
