Faces of Fear - Tina

Our first victim in 'Nightmare On Elm Street', Tina, represents all that is wrong with the wimmins! She is promiscuous and thus must be killed! Being stalked in her dreams by an unidentified, hellish figure, she needs comfort and reassurance by spending the night in with her friends. When bad boy Rod shows up at the party though, she is whisked away by him to forget her troubles for a while, but one out of wedlock sex session too many has brought her back to Freddy. This is an extraordinarily well executed scene blurring dreams with reality, because for all we know, Tina is awake and actually being inexplicably stalked in the middle of the night in her garden by a man who has no business picking on her. He is presented as indeed your worst nightmare, Tina echoing back to her faith that subtly plays a role in the fabric of her character (“Please, God!” she pleads when face to face with the grotesque Freddy), but it won’t save her.
